Why the Name Changed: From Godrej Bannerghatta to Godrej Vanantara
During the pre-launch announcement in late 2025, Godrej Properties used the working name "Godrej Bannerghatta", following the convention of naming projects by their road or locality. At the RERA filing stage in May 2026, the developer formalised the project name as Godrej Vanantara.
"Vanantara" is a Sanskrit word — Vana means forest, antara means deep within. Together, "Vanantara" translates to "deep within the forest". The new name captures the project's design theme far more directly: a 36-acre township where ~93% of the land is dedicated to nature, with 3,500+ trees and 2 natural lakes on site. The pre-launch name "Bannerghatta" itself means "a place that remains green, filled with trees, gardens, and parks" — the rebrand formalised that same theme into the project's identity.
Nothing else has changed. The site, master plan, RERA filing, tower count (16), unit count (2,008), configurations, and developer remain the same. Only the marketing name was updated.
